Sam Houston Race Park has appointed Bart Lang, an experienced professional in the racing industry, as its new Director of Racing. Lang, originally from Timonium, Maryland, began his career at Bonita Farm, where he learned vital skills in horse care and training. He has worked in various racing offices, including Oaklawn Park, Arlington Park, and Hawthorne, and he was the first racing secretary at Lone Star Park, overseeing its inaugural season in 1997. His most recent role was as stakes coordinator at Oaklawn Park. At 53 years old, Lang will officially start at Sam Houston Race Park on May 16, succeeding James C.
